Privacy Policy

The short version. This website collects nothing about you. No cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising scripts, no mailing list, no sign-up form. If you never buy, we never learn anything about you at all.
What this site does not do
Being specific here matters more than being reassuring, so here is the actual list. On theoldwayslibrary.com there are:
- No cookies. The site sets none, first party or third party.
- No analytics. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no heatmaps, no session recording.
- No email capture. There is no form anywhere on the page.
- No account to create and no password to store.
Two small exceptions, named rather than hidden. The page loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address in order to serve the font files. And the site uses your browser's sessionStorage to remember that it already showed you the one-time offer box, so it does not show it twice. That value never leaves your browser and disappears when you close the tab.
What happens when you buy
Checkout happens on Stripe, not on this site. Stripe acts as merchant of record through its Managed Payments service, and it collects your email address, your payment details and the billing country it needs for tax purposes, under its own privacy policy. Stripe also sends your receipt and any invoice, and it may contact you about the transaction itself.
What reaches us is limited: your email address, what you bought, when, and the amount. We use it for three things only, delivering your files, answering you if you write, and processing a refund if you ask. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to advertisers, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
How long we keep it
Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require, which for a US company is generally seven years. Email correspondence is kept while it is useful for support, then deleted.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom the GDPR gives you those rights explicitly, along with the right to complain to your data protection authority. In California the CCPA gives you comparable rights, including the right not to be treated differently for using them.
Write to dykrosmedia@gmail.com and we will action it. We cannot delete a record we are legally required to keep for tax purposes, and we will say so if that applies.
Children
These are guides for people running a household budget. They are not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date changes with it. If we ever started collecting something we do not collect today, we would say so plainly here rather than quietly widening the wording.
